Lucknow: Former Indian opener Navjot Singh Sidhu has compared Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad with former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin. Let us tell you that Gaikwad is a player who is not known for power hitting but for his excellent timing. In such a situation, looking at his batting, Sidhu compared him not only with Azharuddin but also with former Pakistani batsman Zaheer Abbas. He says that Gaikwad bats like these players.

Ruturaj is in great form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He has also scored a century this season and is behind only Virat Kohli in terms of scoring the most runs. Apart from this, he has done a good job while captaining CSK but seeing the batting of the right-handed batsman, Sidhu praised him a lot during the discussion on Star Sports and compared him with the former Pakistan player.

He said, “When I see Rituraj Gaikwad bat and the way he uses his wrists. I feel like Zaheer Abbas used to do this before him. Apart from this, India's Mohammad Azharuddin and Gundappa Vishwanath also used their wrists in a similar manner. Now Gaikwad also plays like him and scores runs with timing.”

Let us tell you that his reaction came at a time when the 27-year-old played an inning of 98 runs in the match played against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, 28 April. He missed scoring his century and was out but took his team to the score of 212 runs. If he had completed his century, it would have been his second consecutive century in IPL but unfortunately Gaikwad could not do so.
