Australia Bowlers went on to deliver an impressive bowling spell, restricting India to a subpar total in the 2nd T20I played on October 31 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Josh Hazlewood put up a brilliant 4-over spell, picking 3 wickets for 13 runs at an economy of 3.20, and has set up a base for Australia to restrict India to 125 runs.

After being invited to bat first, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill opened the innings, while Josh Hazlewood opened the bowling attack.

Hazlewood picked the wicket of Shubman Gill for 5 runs, while Ellis bagged the wicket of Sanju Samson for 2 runs.

Hazlewood bagged the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma for 1 and 0, leaving India to lose four wickets for 40 runs.

Axar Patel‘s run out for 7 runs put India in a tough spot, losing 5 wickets for 49 runs. Meantime, Abishek Sharma went on to slam fifty. Harshit Rana joined Abhishek Sharma, showing some resistance and amassed 35 runs in the middle overs, but Xavier Bartlett sent out a celebration by dismissing Rana.

He went on to bag the wicket of Shivam Dube for 4 runs, and Kuldeep Yadav was sent back to the dugout for 0.

Nathan Ellis sent out Abhishek Sharma for 68 runs, after which Jasprit Bumrah got dismissed in the dugout. India scored only 125 runs, losing all 10 wickets with 8 balls remaining in their innings.

Josh Hazlewood bagged three wickets while Nathan Ellis and Xavier Bartlett bagged two wickets each.

In the pursuit of chasing 126 runs, Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head opened the innings while Jasprit Bumrah opened the bowling attack.

With Mitchell Marsh’s dismissal for 46 runs, Chakravarthy bagged his second wicket of Tim David for 1 run.

Josh Inglis scored 20 runs before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. Despite back-to-back dismissals of Mitchell Owen and Marcus Stoinis for 6 and duck.

However, Marcus Stoinis and Xavier Bartlett at the crease, Australia went on to score 126 runs in the 14th over and secured a four-wicket victory.

Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav bagged two wickets each in a losing cause.

Josh Hazlewood was named the Player of the Match. Speaking on the post-match conference, Hazlewood said, “The ball feels like it’s coming out nicely at the moment, in whatever format I’m turning up and playing.”

“So, not much needed to change on a wicket like that – there’s enough there for all the quicks. Just about putting the ball in the right areas, don’t try too much, and seeing what happens,” Hazlewood added.

“Not a lot different, really. Minor tweaks here and there, as always, everything’s improving. I think just playing continuous cricket has helped – we’ve been up north playing a few games, then over in New Zealand, now here, West Indies in the winter…,” added the Australian pacer.

“I’ve just been going from one series to the next, playing the majority of the games, resting when needed. Everything feels in a good place and ready to go. (strong bowling unit) Absolutely,” further added Josh Hazlewood.

Australia leads the series 1-0, and the third match will be played on November 02 at Ninja Stadium.
