Lucknow: Veteran batsman Virat Kohli is often discussed about his strike rate in T-20 cricket and his play against spinners. Now former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, while comparing a young player, has said that he is better than Virat against spinners. Not only this, the statistics also give similar testimony when Kohli is seen struggling against the left arm spinner. Sidhu has claimed that Gujarat Titans' young batsman Sai Sudarshan's game against spin is better than Kohli.
Sudarshan is a young player who has performed well for Gujarat in the last few years. Not only this, Sai is the highest run-scorer for GT in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and he is even ahead of captain Shubman Gill. In such a situation, during the conversation on Star Sports, Sidhu has given a big statement comparing Virat and Sudarshan.

He said, “When Virat Kohli comes to bat against spinners, his strike rate reduces significantly. So if you look at Sai Sudarshan, his strike rate increases against spin. Sai is a better player against spinners and bats well.”
Sidhu further said that “Sai does not score runs only in one area but plays shots all around the field and scores runs. He is the future of Indian cricket and will be seen playing in all three formats for the Indian team in the coming times.”
Sai Sudarshan's performance in IPL 2024
If we look at the performance of the young batsman in IPL 2024, it has been amazing. He has played 10 matches so far this season, in which the left-handed batsman has scored 418 runs at an average of 46.44 and strike rate of 135.71. During this period, he has scored 2 half-centuries with his bat, while his best score has been 84 not out. Apart from this, the 22-year-old is also at third place in terms of scoring most runs in IPL 2024 and ahead of him are Virat Kohli and Rituraj Gaikwad.
