Virat Kohli has hit out at former players for questioning his strike rate in T20 cricket. He questioned their credibility as players. The veteran batter has been slammed for his slow scoring rate in the shortest format of the game. Kohli equalled the record of the slowest hundred in IPL history in this season of the tournament.

Despite his century, RCB lost the contest. His 53 runs off 41 balls also led to scrutiny.

Simon Doull, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Aakash Chopra and several others have been gunning for his head since the start of the ongoing edition.

It seems Virat Kohli was hurt and gave a strong worded statement.

“All those people who talk about strike-rate and me not playing spin well are the ones who love talking about this stuff. But for me, it is about winning the games for the team.

“There is a reason why you do it for 15 years. You have done this day in and day out. You have won games for your teams. I am not sure if you have been in that situation yourself to sit and talk about the game from a box.

“I don’t think it is really the same thing. For me, it is about doing my job. People can talk about their own ideas and assumptions of the game. But those who have done that day in and day out, they know what is happening. It is kind of a muscle memory for me now,” Virat Kohli said.

He scored an unbeaten 70 runs off 44 balls as Bengaluru defeated Gujarat Titans by 9 wickets while chasing 201. Will jacks smashed a 100 off 41 balls. Kohli has reached the 500-run mark in the 17th season. The star batter has hit 1 hundred and 4 half-centuries in 10 matches.
