On October 25, a big incident happened with Shreyas Iyer during the third ODI against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground. Actually, Iyer took a brilliant catch of Alex Carey, but during this he got injured in the lower part of his ribs. Medical examination confirmed mild internal bleeding, after which he was immediately admitted to a hospital in Sydney and kept in the ICU. However, he is now out of ICU. Meanwhile, a big update has come out regarding his family going to Australia.
After Shreyas Iyer's injury, there were reports that a family member could fly from Mumbai to Sydney after the visa formalities are completed. However, Iyer's family has decided not to go to Australia. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer's father Santosh Iyer has also given a big update on his son's injury. According to which, Shreyas Iyer is now recovering and can return to India soon.
Shreyas Iyer's father Santosh Iyer, while talking to Deccan Chronicle, said, 'BCCI is monitoring his injury and he is recovering. The best doctors of Sydney are treating him. He is likely to be discharged by the end of this week, and perhaps even earlier. Because he is not a part of the T20 International team, he will be back soon. He further said, 'Contrary to earlier reports, we are not going to Sydney.'
