Banswara, 28 October (Read). A shocking case has come to light in Shambhupura village of Kalinjara police station area of Banswara district. Here, a man was allegedly beaten to death by his brothers and family members just for refusing to go to church. The deceased has been identified as Kalu son of Laxman Solanki Bhil (age 35 years), resident of Shambhupura.
The wives and other relatives of the deceased told that Kalu’s brother and some other relatives wanted to forcibly take him to a Christian place of worship, the church, and make him meet the priest there.
When Kalu flatly refused to obey them and go to the church, the angry brothers and family members beat him severely.
According to information received from the police, in anger he hit Kalu on the head with an axe, causing fatal injuries. Injured Kalu was immediately taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for treatment, but he died on the way.
Kalinjara police station has kept the body of the deceased in the mortuary. Kalinjara police station has registered a case of murder on the basis of the primary report given by the relatives of the deceased and has started investigating the entire incident in depth.
Police Officer Vikram Singh told that late in the night there was a fight between the brothers over some issue, in which Kalu’s son Laxman died. Investigation into the matter has been started.
Deceased Kalu has two wives. Jivi, his first wife, has three children, including a son and two daughters, while Mangali, the second wife, has a son.
