Indian men's recurve team's first win over archery powerhouse in World Cup final

Archery World Cup 2024 News: The Indian men's recurve team of Dheeraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai and Praveen Jadhav stunned defending Olympic champions South Korea with a historic win here on Sunday and won the Archery World Cup gold medal after 14 years.

This is the Indian men's recurve team's first win over the archery powerhouse in a World Cup final, and will boost their chances of securing a quota at the upcoming Paris Olympics.

It may be noted that the Indian men's recurve team of Tarundeep Rai, Praveen Jadhav and Dheeraj Bommadevara won the gold medal at the Archery World Cup 2024 in Shanghai, People's Republic of China on Sunday, while Deepika Kumari won the silver medal in the women's individual recurve event.

India won a bronze medal in the mixed team recurve thanks to Ankita Bhakta and Dheeraj and ended the Shanghai competition with eight medals – five gold, two silver and one bronze. The country's compound archers won five medals, including four gold, on Saturday.
