New Zealand captain Sophie Devine has won the toss and elected to bat first against England in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 match at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
“It is a good wicket and we want to put runs on the board. We have played well in patches, but we need big partnerships. It has been a privilege to represent NZ for a long time,” Sophie Devine said.
England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt would have batted first as well. “We would have batted first as well. We will have to make full use of the new ball. The pitch looks dry, and that’s why we wanted to bat first,” she said.
