Women’s World Cup 2025: India made it to the semi-finals by defeating New Zealand, Mandhana-Pratika’s innings stole the show

Mumbai, 23 October (Read News). Indian women’s cricket team has made it to the semi-finals of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. In the match played against New Zealand at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday, India defeated the opposing team by 53 runs under the DLS method in a rain-affected match.

Batting first in the match, the Indian team scored a huge score of 340 runs in 49 overs after losing three wickets. Opener Smriti Mandhana scored 109 runs in 95 balls with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes, while Pratika Rawal made a brilliant contribution of 122 runs in 134 balls with the help of 13 fours and 2 sixes. Both of them made a huge partnership of 212 runs for the first wicket and took the team to a big total.

In response, New Zealand got a revised target of 325 runs in the stipulated 44 overs. The team could score only 271 runs. Brooke Holiday scored 81 runs and Isabelle Gage played an unbeaten inning of 65 runs. For India, Renuka Singh and Kranti Gaur took two wickets each, while Sneh Rana, Charani, Deepti Sharma and Pratika Rawal took one wicket each.

With this victory, India entered the semi-finals of the World Cup and the brilliant innings of Mandhana-Pratika enthralled the Indian audience. The performance of the Captain and the team once again demonstrated the growing strength of Team India and their strong claim to the World Cup.
