Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal set a new record for the highest partnership by India in Women’s ODI World Cup history during their game against New Zealand in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
After reaching 50 in the first ten overs, the duo accelerated impressively, adding 138 more to post 212 for the first wicket. The partnership came to an end when Suzie Bates dismissed Smriti Mandhana after her century (109 off 95).
Before this, the duo had already impressed with a solid 155-run partnership against Australia in Visakhapatnam earlier in the tournament.
Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put together an incredible 212-run opening partnership, setting the highest stand for India Women in World Cup history (any wicket). They broke the previous record of 184 runs, set by Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur against West Indies in Hamilton in 2022.
