Bangladesh finally did what every fan expected. At home, Bangladesh defeated West Indies in the third match of the ODI series. Bangladesh won the third match played in Dhaka by a huge margin of 179 runs. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 296 runs, in reply West Indies was reduced to just 117 runs. The hero of Bangladesh's victory was Soumya Sarkar, who played an inning of 91 runs. This player hit 4 sixes and 7 fours in his innings. Apart from him, Saif Hasan played an inning of 80 runs. In reply, West Indies' batting proved to be a miserable failure. Brandon King scored 18 runs and Alick Athanaje scored 15 runs. Auguste could not open the account. Captain Shay Hope could score only 4 runs. West Indies lost its 7 wickets for just 67 runs. Somehow the team crossed 100 but could not avoid losing the series.
Bangladesh leg spinner Rishad Hossain was chosen Player of the Series. This player took maximum 12 wickets. He also scored 68 runs at an average of 34. Soumya Sarkar scored the maximum 140 runs among the batsmen.
