INDW vs NZW Playing 11: Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will square off against Sophie Devine-led New Zealand in the 24th match of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on October 23 at DR DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
With Australia, England, and South Africa qualified for the semi-finals and Bangladesh and Sri Lanka knocked out of the tournament, the upcoming clash between India and New Zealand will be a virtual quarter-final.
India and New Zealand have both secured 4 points, and the winner of the game will likely qualify for the semifinals.
India and New Zealand has met on 57 occasions in ODI format where England has won on 22 occasions while White Ferns has 34 wins.
Harmanpreet Kaur and Sophie Devine’s side has secured 4th and 5th spots in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 points table.
New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking on the toss, Sophie Devine said, “We are going to have a bowl first today. The surface won’t change much and hopefully it can get better under lights, dew will also come in.”
“We have been training exceptionally hard and a couple of extra sessions won’t change much. This is the moment all cricketers want to be playing, pressure game, playing India in India,” concluded Devine.
Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur said, “Pitch is looking really good and it is a great opportunity to put up a good total on the board. Jemi is in for Amanjot. We have been playing good cricket but the result has not gone our way.”
“We are getting starts but unfortunately we haven’t made it big, today is a great opportunity to make it count for the team,” concluded Kaur.
