New Zealand captain Sophie Devine has won the toss and elected to bowl against India in Match 24 of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, in Mumbai.
“We are going to bowl first today. The surface won’t change much, and it should even improve a bit under the lights with the dew coming in. We’ve been training extremely hard, and a few extra sessions wouldn’t make a big difference. This is the kind of moment every cricketer dreams of — a high-pressure match against India in India,” Sophie Devine said.
“The pitch is looking really good, and I believe we have a great opportunity today. We’ve added some extra batters, so it’s a good chance to put a solid total on the board. Jemimah comes in for Amanjot. We’ve been getting starts but not converting them. Today’s a great chance for everyone to perform for the team,” Harmanpreet Kaur.
