West Indies team is currently on tour of Bangladesh. A series of 3 ODI matches is being played between the two teams. In the second match of this series, both of them faced each other at Shere Bangla National Stadium. In this match, the Caribbean team took a decision which surprised everyone. This match has now been recorded in the pages of cricket history. What West Indies did was never seen before in the history of ODI cricket.

Shocking feat of West Indies

Bangladesh won the toss in this match and decided to bat first. At the same time, West Indies expressed confidence in their spin bowling considering the condition of the pitch. In the 50 over match, the Caribbean team got the first over bowled by the spinner and this sequence continued till the 50th over. He used a total of 5 bowlers and the special thing was that all of them were spinners. That means West Indies got 50 to 50 overs done by spinners.

With this, the West Indies team became the first team in the world to have 50 overs of spinners in an ODI match. This scene had never been seen before in the history of ODI cricket. Earlier, Sri Lanka held the record of bowling the most number of overs from spinners in an ODI match. Sri Lanka had bowled 44 overs through spinners. However, he did this three times. In 1996 against West Indies, in 1998 against New Zealand and in 2004 against Australia, 44 overs were bowled by the spinners.

Bangladesh restricted to 213 runs

West Indies spinners proved the captain's decision right and restricted Bangladesh to 213 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. During this, Akil Hussain, Roston Chase, Khary Pierre, Gudakesh Moti and Alick Athanaje bowled amazingly. Gudakesh Moti took maximum 3 wickets. At the same time, Akil Hussain and Alik Athanaje had 2 successes each. Even though Roston Chase and Khary Pierre did not get wickets, both the bowlers were economical.
