India’s Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal notched up the highest-ever opening partnership by any team against Australia in their Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match on Sunday at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

The pair broke the 119-run record which was created in 2009 by English batters Caroline Atkins and Sarah Taylor.

The Indians stitched up 155 runs for the first wicket before Smriti was sent back for 80 by Sophie Molineux.
