Team India has reached Australia for the 3-match ODI series, which will start from October 19.

All the attention is currently focused on this series because Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are going to make a comeback from this series. But on this tour, apart from the ODI series, Team India also has to play a T20 series, for which most of the players have not yet left for Australia and some of them are playing in the Ranji Trophy. Young batsman Tilak Verma is also among them but he did not get much benefit from playing in Ranji Trophy because his game ended in just 2 balls.

This happened to Tilak in the match played between Hyderabad and Delhi in the first round of group stage in Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season.

The first match of the new season was not good at all for Hyderabad captain Tilak Verma. It started with Delhi's innings, which scored a huge score of 529 runs in the first play. During this period, all the bowlers of Hyderabad were completely ineffective and even Tilak himself could not do anything amazing in his 5 overs. Delhi, under the captaincy of Ayush Badoni, had declared its first innings by making such a big score by losing only 4 wickets.

Not only did the Hyderabad captain fail in bowling, he also did not show his true colors in batting.

The start was good for Hyderabad, playing in its home ground, but then its wickets kept falling from time to time. At a time when Hyderabad needed its captain Tilak Verma, he failed to make any impact. Tilak, who came to bat at number four, returned to the pavilion within just 2 balls. He could not even open his account. This was not only a shock for Hyderabad but it was also a cause of trouble for Tilak because he could not get time for batting practice before the Australia tour.

Tilak Verma's game was ended by Delhi captain Ayush Badoni, who proved to be the biggest star of his team's bowling.

While batting, Ayush could not play a big innings but he definitely contributed 53 runs. But the real miracle was done by his off-spin bowling, where Badoni took the first four wickets of Hyderabad. Apart from Tilak Verma, Aniket Reddy who played an inning of 87 runs was also included in this. By the end of the third day's play, Hyderabad had scored 400 runs after losing 7 wickets in the first innings and was 129 runs behind Delhi. Delhi captain Badoni took 5 out of these 7 wickets.
