ICC Player of the Month: ICC's big award for Abhishek Sharma-Smriti Mandhana, shocked the whole world

The International Cricket Council has announced the Cricketer of the Month for September 2025. For Male Cricketer of the Month, there was competition between India's explosive opener Abhishek Sharma, star spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Zimbabwean batsman Brian Bennett. Abhishek Sharma has won this ICC award for the first time by defeating both these players. Abhishek Sharma is the 10th cricketer from India to be named ICC Cricketer of the Month.

ICC's big reward for Abhishek Sharma

Indian team's young batsman Abhishek Sharma had made a lot of headlines with his explosive batting in September. He played an important role in Team India winning the Asia Cup title. In the Asia Cup, he scored a total of 314 runs in seven T20 matches, which included three half-centuries. Due to which he was also chosen Player of the Tournament. Apart from this, he is also the world's number-1 T20 batsman at present.

On winning this award, Abhishek Sharma said, 'It feels great to win the ICC Award and I am happy that I have received this award for some important matches in which I could help win. I am proud to be a part of the team which can win even in the most difficult circumstances. I thank the team manager for his guidance and all my colleagues for their support. I am also grateful to the panel that selected me for this award.

Smriti Mandhana won again

On the other hand, India's star batsman Smriti Mandhana has been selected as the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Month. Smriti Mandhana had done wonders in the home ODI series against Australia. This month he scored 308 runs in four ODI matches. In the three-match series against Australia, his scores were 58, 117 and 125 runs. Especially in the third ODI, he set the record for the fastest century by an Indian batsman by scoring a century in just 50 balls.
