3381 Anganwadi workers participate in nutrition, education and training

Mumbai, 16 October (Read News). The state level training program Poshan Bhi Madhyam under the Women and Child Development Department is getting encouraging response in Thane district. Under this program, comprehensive training is being provided to Anganwadi workers on child nutrition, health, education and overall child development. The duration of the said training program has been fixed from October 6, 2025 to December 15, 2025 and a total of 3381 Anganwadi workers are participating in this training.

This training has been conducted in phases for all Anganwadi workers of 17 Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) projects operating in Thane district.

Training has been planned for 100 (maximum 105) workers per batch and theoretical and practical guidance on topics like nutrition, sanitation, health, education and child safety is being provided in each batch.

The objective of “Poshan Bhi Madhya Bhi” training is to provide updated information and skills to Anganwadi workers on child nutrition, health, hygiene and educational activities, to enhance the efficiency of workers for holistic development of children including pre-school education, to strengthen the Anganwadi system to provide better quality services to rural and urban children.

This training has been organized by Thane Zilla Parishad in coordination with the concerned Project Officer, Child Development Project Officer and recognized training institutes. All necessary facilities have been provided to the workers at the training site and thorough guidance is being provided by subject experts.

District Program Officer (Women and Child Development), Zilla Parishad Thane Sanjay Bagul said, currently nutrition and middle training is going on successfully in Thane district. Anganwadi workers are being empowered by training them in new skills and processes. This initiative will be extremely important for the bright future of children in rural areas.

Poshan Bhi Madhya Bhi training program has infused new energy in the field of child development and education in Thane district. Women and Child Development Department, Zilla Parishad Thane is continuously striving to achieve the goals of empowerment of Anganwadi workers, quality services and overall development of children through this.
