The Indian Test team has found a stable opener in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal.. Since his debut, the youngster has never failed to shine for the Indian team with his consistent performances. He once again finished as the highest run scorer against the West Indies.
At a time when the Indian team has experienced players, there is a youngster who has dominated in the Test format. And it is none other than Yashasvi Jaiswal. Since his debut, he has been the team's top run scorer across five Test series he has played.
This shows his impact as an opener for the Indian team. Whether the team played in India or the SENA countries, Jaiswal was able to score well across all grounds. It should be noted that Jaiswal is currently present at the 7th spot in the ICC Test batsman rankings, being able to dominate with ease.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played his first Test series in the West Indies in 2023. He walked out as a shining star in his first series, finishing as the highest run scorer. Jaiswal scored 266 runs for the team in just 3 innings at an average of 88.66.
In his debut game, he scored 171 runs for the team, as India won by an innings and 141 runs. Jaiswal received the POTM award in this game. Later in the second Test, he scored a half-century in the first innings, followed by 38 runs in the second innings.
Later, when England visited India for a five-match Test series, Jaiswal proved his worth once again. Going against England in his second test series, he scored 712 runs in 9 innings at an average of 89, with 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries.

The first Test went well for Jaiswal, as he notched up a half-century in the same. In the second Test, he dominated all the English bowlers, scoring 209 runs in the first innings for the team. Later in the third Test, he smashed another double century for the team, helping India to win the game.
The fourth Test match also saw Jaiswal scoring consistently with the bat. He scored 73 runs for the team in its first innings, as India went on to win the game and the series. Jaiswal finished the series with yet another half-century, ending as the team's top run scorer.
In the Test series against Bangladesh, Yashasvi Jaiswal again finished as the team's top run scorer. Playing in two Test matches, he scored 189 runs for the team at an average of 47.25. Jaiswal started away the succeeding with a half-century in the first innings of the Test.
The second test finally saw him perform well in the second innings. This match was played in Kanpur, as Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 72 runs in the first innings, which was followed by 51 runs in the second innings. In addition, although he missed on any century, his performances can't be ignored.
Yashasvi Jaiswal also continued his dominant presence in the Test format in Australia. Having his first tour to Australia, he made it count. Jaiswal ended up scoring 391 runs for the team in five matches at an average of 43.44, with a century and 2 half-centuries.

But in the fourth Test, he scored consecutive half-centuries for the team. Despite his stellar performances, India still lost the series by 3-1.
Not being the top run scorer against England in 2025, Jaiswal continued his form in the series against the West Indies. This was a home series which included just two Test matches. In the first Test, he didn't get a good start, scoring just 36 runs for the team.
But in the second Test, Jaiswal continued his onslaught with the bat. He scored 175 runs for the team in its first innings, followed by just 8 runs in the chase. Still, India ended up winning the series with a clean sweep. Scoring 219 runs in 3 innings, he once again finished as the highest run scorer of the series.
