Korba, 16 October (Read News). Former Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Assembly and senior BJP leader Banwari Lal Aggarwal passed away late on Wednesday night. He was unwell for a long time. Family members told that he was undergoing treatment at home for the last few days. He breathed his last at around 10:30 pm on Wednesday night. As soon as the news of his demise broke, a wave of mourning ran in the entire Korba city.
78-year-old Banwari Lal Aggarwal was born on 1 May 1947 in village Japeli of Korba district of Chhattisgarh. He was highly educated – having obtained MSc, B.Ed and LLB degrees, he joined the legal profession. With the spirit of social service, he entered politics and started his political career from Jan Sangh. Aggarwal was elected MLA from Katghora Assembly constituency thrice and also held the responsibility of the post of Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Assembly. He was always known for his simple behaviour, friendly nature and works in public interest.
Apart from being active in education and social service, he was also deeply associated with social organizations along with politics. He made commendable contribution in the field of education and service through organizations like Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Rotary Club and Lions Club. He had also been the Chairman of Korba Special Area Development Authority. As soon as the news of the demise of the senior BJP leader spread, a large number of public representatives, BJP officials, social workers and common citizens reached his residence. Everyone paid tribute to him and consoled the family members. BJP leaders said that “Banwari Lal Aggarwal ji’s demise is an irreparable loss for the organization as well as the society.” (Read) /Harish Tiwari
