It seems the selectors, the head coach and the captains are not eager to include Mohammed Shami in Team India across formats. Despite performing well for the Men in Blue, the veteran pacer was not given a chance for the upcoming ODI series in Australia.

He has been kept out of the Test and T20I teams as well. Shami is miffed with the decision-makers and has slammed them for the way they are treating him.

Reacting to ouster, South Africa legend AB de Villiers said that the team is now looking beyond the player.

“It is a big call. They have moved on from him, and I don’t know the scene’s story. If he is carrying niggles, or maybe he has lost pace and zip. However, it is not the end of the road for him,” AB de Villiers said.

“If he can still bowl fast, and that is one thing I have identified. He has lost pace, and maybe that is why he is not in the team. De Villiers is hoping to see Shami in the team as he is a big fan of the fast bowler.

Shami was not at his best during the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He struggled to take wickets for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and conceded runs at an alarming rate.
