New Delhi, October 14 (Read News). American tech company Google has announced to build an Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub in Visakhapatnam. The company will invest US $ 15 billion to set up the center in the next five years. This will be the company’s largest project and AI hub outside the US.
Google Cloud Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thomas Kurian announced this at the ‘India AI Shakti’ event in the national capital New Delhi on Tuesday. He said that this new AI center of Google will integrate AI infrastructure, new data center capacity, large energy sources and expanded optical fiber network. On this occasion, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu were also present.
Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Google’s new gigawatt level AI Hub will prove to be very helpful in meeting the goals of India AI Mission.
Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman stressed that the launch of this project reflects the harmony between progressive policy-making and the dynamics of governance decision making.
