India and Australia play each other in a Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 league stage fixture at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

It was a series decider and Australia clinched a 43-run victory in a high-scoring match which recorded the highest match aggregate in women’s ODIs (781 runs).

Half-centuries from Georgia Voll and Ellyse Perry were generously backed by a blistery hundred off Beth Mooney’s bat, helping Australia post 412 on the board and equal its highest-ever total in the format.

Arundhati Reddy had taken three wickets for the Women in Blue, while Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma took two scalps apiece.

India’s chase was off to a flying start as Smriti Mandhana’s quickfire century helped her side go about 10 runs an over till 21.1 overs when she was sent back. Before her dismissal, captain Harmanpreet Kaur also had a fine knock, notching up a half-century.

Deepti (72 off 58) and Sneh Rana (35 off 41) tried to take India’s chase deep but the Aussie bowlers, led by Kim Garth’s three-wicket haul, bundled the host in 47 overs.
