AFG vs BAN 2nd ODI Playing 11: Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan will square off against Mehidy Hasan-led Bangladesh in the 1st ODI match on October 08 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Securing a 3-0 clean sweep in the T20I series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh will be aiming to replicate the success in the ODI series.

Afghanistan secured a 1-0 lead in the ODI series after securing a 5-wicket victory and will be aiming to replicate the success in the upcoming clash.

Coming to the stats, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have met on 20 occasions in the limited over format, where the Tigers have won on 11 occasions while the Afghans have won 9 times.

Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat. Speaking at the toss, Hashmatullah Shahidi said, “We want to bat first, the wicket looks good and maybe a bit of spin in the second innings. We look what is best for us, I think during the daytime batting is better for us compared to the night. We batted well in the first game and hopefully, we bat well today as well.”

Meanwhile Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, “I would have loved to bat first as well, the wicket looks good. We are disappointed that we didn’t bat well in the last match, I think the bowlers did well. In the second half, a little bit of dew is coming and we might have a chance. 240-250 is a chaseable total here. We have two changes.”
