New Delhi, 11 October (Read News). The grand finale of the Swachhta Premier League T-20 cricket tournament organized by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) took place on Saturday at Harikishan Cricket Ground located in Kheda village of Najafgarh. In the final match, Najafgarh Stallions defeated West Warriors by 8 wickets and captured the title. This tournament ran from 26 September to 11 October under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, in which 13 teams from 12 zones and headquarters of MCD participated.
In the final, West Warriors batted first and scored 108 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Chasing the target, Najafgarh Stallions scored a spectacular victory by scoring 111 runs in 15 overs. Many dignitaries and local citizens including Delhi Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood, Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, Najafgarh Zone Ward Committee President Savita Sharma, Vice President Devendra, Councilor Meena Tarun Yadav, Councilor Ram Niwas Gehlot, Additional Commissioner Veer Singh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Santosh Kumar Rai were present in the closing ceremony. Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh said, “It is our primary responsibility to keep Delhi clean and green. Adopting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of Swachh Bharat, we have to keep public places garbage free.” He congratulated all the teams for their performance and said that such events are important in raising awareness about cleanliness.
Special attention to 500 garbage sensitive points
Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood congratulated MCD for successfully organizing the tournament and said that just as this tournament became successful due to public participation, we will have to work together to make Delhi clean. He said that 500 garbage sensitive points have been identified in Delhi, where regular cleaning will be ensured. LM Sood also assured MCD of financial and other assistance from the Delhi government.

The program concluded with honoring the players and support staff. Deputy Commissioner Santosh Kumar Rai was thanked for his special contribution in the event. MCD said that it will promote cleanliness and environmental awareness through such events in future also.
