LSG vs RR: Rajasthan Royals registered their eighth win in the current season by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets in the 44th match of IPL 2024 played in Lucknow. Lucknow team, playing first, scored 196/5 in 20 overs, in reply Rajasthan team scored 199/3 in 19 overs. Rajasthan Royals are now just one win away from officially qualifying for the playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bowl first, which seemed to be proved in the first two overs. From here captain KL Rahul got the support of Deepak Hooda, both of them made the record of third highest partnership for Lucknow Super Giants and added 115 runs. Lucknow team completed 150 runs in the 15th over but lost the wicket of Nicholas Puran (11) in the 16th over. Rahul played an inning of 76 runs in 48 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes. His wicket fell at the score of 173 in the 18th over. Runs did not come very fast in the last overs and due to this the team could not achieve the score of 200. Ayush Badoni remained unbeaten on 18 and Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 15 runs. Sandeep Sharma took maximum two wickets for Rajasthan Royals.

Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel made a brilliant century partnership

While chasing the target, Rajasthan Royals got a good start from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. Both of them took the score beyond 50 in the powerplay itself. However, Jos Buttler's wicket fell in the sixth over and he was out after scoring 34 runs in 18 balls. Jaiswal also could not play a big innings and returned to the pavilion with a score of 60 in the seventh over after scoring 24 runs in 18 balls. Impact player Riyan Parag could not do anything special and became the victim of experienced Amit Mishra after scoring 14 runs in 11 balls.

From here captain Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel took charge. Both of them targeted the Lucknow bowlers and completed their respective half-centuries. There was an unbeaten partnership of 121 runs in 62 balls for the fourth wicket, with the help of which Rajasthan Royals achieved the target with one over remaining. Samson played an unbeaten inning of 71 runs in 33 balls. Whereas, Jurel scored unbeaten 52 runs in 34 balls. Yash Thakur, Marcus Stoinis and Amit Mishra took one wicket each for Lucknow Super Giants.
