Delhi: KL Rahul was looking in good form on the first day of the second Test being played between India and West Indies in Delhi. He started the innings with confidence and played some excellent backfoot shots. But he was stumped on 38 runs, which must have disappointed him a lot.

Pointing towards Rahul’s technical weakness

Former Indian batsman and coach Sanjay Bangar, while talking to Star Sports, praised Rahul’s batting, but also pointed out some technical mistakes. According to him, there was confusion in Rahul’s batting later and it seemed as if a lot was going on in his mind.

Questions raised on bottom hand

Bangar said that Rahul usually plays well on the back foot and many of his runs come in the direction of square leg and fine leg. But in this innings he used his bottom hand more, which was clearly visible in his straight drives and lofted shots. According to Bangar, this shows imbalance in his game.

Rahul will be angry with himself

Sanjay Bangar said that when Rahul will sit in the dressing room and think about this innings, he will curse himself. He will feel that he could not convert this good start into a big innings, and he missed this opportunity.

Rahul had brought the form for the first test.

Rahul was full of confidence after scoring a century in the Ahmedabad Test. He opened with Yashasvi Jaiswal and initially adopted an aggressive attitude. But as soon as he started looking in rhythm, a mistake got him out. He could not understand the ball and returned stumped.
