According to reports by CricBuzz, discussions with the BCCI are ongoing regarding the final auction schedule. The mini-auction format will continue this year, focusing on filling specific gaps rather than complete overhauls. However, teams like Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR)who endured poor campaigns in IPL 2025are expected to make several bold decisions.

CSK, already benefiting from Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement which frees up INR 9.75 crore in their purse, could release key players such as Curran, Devon Conway and Deepak Hooda to create space for fresh overseas signings. The franchise aims to bring in a younger core under the guidance of their revamped coaching setup.

Meanwhile, RR are believed to be considering a major shake-up after finishing near the bottom of the table. Reports suggest that Sanja Samson’s retention is uncertain unless a trade deal is finalized.
