Mohammad Kaif slammed KL Rahul for his poor captaincy against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2024. He held Rahul responsible for the team’s defeat in Lucknow. Batting first, the Giants posted 196, which looked like a match-winning total, but Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel hit aggressive fifties to take the visitors to a seven-wicket victory.

Kaif was miffed with Rahul for his several blunders. “KL Rahul was poor as a captain. Marcus Stoinis got rid of Yashasvi Jaiswal but was given just one over. Amit Mishra took the wicket of Riyan Parag but was used for two overs.

“Mishra and Krunal Pandya were bowling well in tandem but they were not allowed to continue. Ravi Bishnoi, who is their number one spinner, was given the ball in 16th over of the RR chase. He was also poor behind the stumps. The team also dropped several catches despite Jonty Rhodes being their fielding coach,” Mohammad Kaif said on Star Sports.

However, KL was the best batter of his team. He managed 76 runs off 48 balls, laced with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from him, Deepak Hooda also hit a well-compiled fifty.

The chase was not challenging for the visitors, with Sanju Samson (71 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (52 not out) playing exceptional innings.
