AFG vs BAN 1st ODI Playing 11: Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan will square off against Mehidy Hasan-led Bangladesh in the 1st ODI match on October 08 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Securing a 3-0 clean sweep in the T20I series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh will be aiming to replicate the success in the ODI series.

Coming to the stats, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have met on 19 occasions in the limited over format, where the Tigers have won on 11 occasions while the Afghans have won 8 times.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. Speaking at the toss, Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, “We will bat first. Wicket looks good, and 280 might be a good score here. We played really well in T20I series and we just want to keep the momentum going.”

“This is a very important match, after long time we are playing an ODI. We have 3 fast bowlers, 2 spinners and we have one debutant in Saif. The way he played in Asia Cup and T20 series, I hope he gets going,” said Hasan Miraz.

Meanwhile, Hashmatullah Shahidi said, “We wanted to bat, it is a new pitch and I hope the decision they took will benefit us. We have beeen playing domestic tournaments back home and some played the T20 series and let’s hope we get good results.”
