According to the news of Cricbuzz, he can join the Bengaluru-based Center of Excellence (COE) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Joshi was in the role of spin bowling coach in the Punjab Kings team.
An official of Punjab Kings has confirmed his separation from the team. “He has written to us about his unavailability for the upcoming season. He is a good person and the franchise has a good rapport with him. But we do not want to hinder anyone’s career growth,” he said.
Let us tell you that Joshi had earlier been a part of the support staff of Punjab Kings from 2020 to 2022 under the leadership of former head coach Anil Kumble. After this he served as Chief Selector and then as Selector in BCCI. Before this, he had also been the head coach of Uttar Pradesh team for a long time.
Joshi played 15 Test and 69 ODI matches for India in his five-year career from 1996 to 2001, taking 41 and 69 wickets respectively. His best performance in Test was 5 wickets for 142 runs, while his best performance in ODI was 5 wickets for 6 runs.
It is noteworthy that the performance of Punjab Kings team in IPL 2025 was excellent. The team reached the finals where it lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
