Jonny Bairstow and Shashank Singh stitched a fantastic 84-run partnership to lead their team to victory over KKR at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Singh smashed a quickfire unbeaten 68 off just 28 balls, while Bairstow slammed his first century in IPL 2024. Together, the duo orchestrated a record run chase, gunning down the formidable target of 262 runs – the highest successful run chase in T20 cricket history.
After the game, Shashank Singh praised Jonny’s century. Shashank suggested that Jonny should stick to the same pre-match diet for the next 4-5 games to maintain his success.
“The dressing room had a positive vibe. We were so confident that we felt no pressure at all. I hope Jonny maintains the same diet over the next 5 matches to help replicate our recent success,” Shashank Singh said.
Shashank has been exceptionally amazing in IPL 2024, striking the ball flawlessly and keeping PBKS alive in games when their top order has crumbled. Singh was the right batting partner for Bairstow as the team blasted 24 sixes in 18.4 overs.
“Kolkata is a batter’s ground where you can hit a lot of sixes. Both sides undoubtedly batted well. I hope I can maintain my form and keep hitting sixes, but the victory is more important,” Shashank stated.
The English keeper praised Shashank for his ability to execute shots whenever he wanted,

PBKS snapped their 5-match losing streak and moved to the 8th place in the IPL points table.
