Indian Golf Union will send a three -member team for World Amachure Team Championship

The Indian Golf Union (IGU), which is the Golf National Sports Federation (NSF) in the country, has announced a three -member team to participate in the prestigious World Amateur Team Championship in Singapore. This championship will be held from 8 to 11 October 2025 in the Tanah Meh Merah Country Club (Tampines Course).

The Indian team consists of Arin Ahuja, Rakshit Dahiya and Deepak Yadav. These players will compete with the Amateur Golfars from 35 other countries and will try to win the Eisenhwar Trophy named after the US 34th President Dwight D.

Eisenhwar. It is noteworthy that Rakshit Dahiya was the winner and Deepak Yadav runner-up in the Delhi-NCR Cup held in June this year.

Major General (retired) Vibhuti Bhushan, Director General of Indian Golf Union, will go to Singapore as Captain of the team. He said, “Our players are working hard for this tournament. IGU had created a national squad system last year, which we are benefiting in international competitions. Players like Ranveer Mitras, Harjai Milkha Singh and Krishna Chaula are constantly making a place in the top-10.

We are confident that this time the team will perform brilliantly this time.”

The championship was first held in 1958 at the old course in St. Andrews, Scotland in 1958. The US has won the most 28 medals (16 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze) so far. Australia (14 medals), Great Britain and Ireland (11), Canada (7) and Sweden (7) are among the top-5 countries.

The Tampines courses have been prepared at the 7,394 yard length and 72 across. This golf club has already hosted several world -class tournaments, including Johnny Walker Classic, Laksus Cup, HSBC Women’s Champions, Asian Tour International Series Singapore and Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open.

The competition will be played in individual strokeplay format. In each round, the best scores of two of the three players of the team will be added and the total score of four days (72 holes) will be the team’s final score.
