Bangladesh has announced a 16 -member team for the T20 series starting on October 2 against Afghanistan. Zakir Ali Anik has been re -captained due to Litton Das’s injury. All the matches of the series will be played in Sharjah.
Delhi: Bangladesh has announced its 16 -member team for the T20 series against Afghanistan starting from October 2. Regular captain Litton Das is not available due to injury, in such a situation, Zakir Ali Anik has been given the command of the team once again.
Zakir Ali captained Litton in the last two matches of Asia Cup Super Four. However, both of them lost the match and could not do anything special with the bat either. He scored just 71 runs in six matches. His average was 23.66 and the strike rate was 107.57. However, he had played an unbeaten 41 runs in a group stage against Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh has recalled experienced batsman Soumya Sarkar in the team for this series. Soumya last played a T20 international match on the West Indies tour. Recently he performed brilliantly in the National Cricket League, in which he scored 63 and 45 runs against the monarchy and Dhaka Metro respectively.
Three T20 matches against Afghanistan will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on 2, 3 and 5 October. After this, there will also be a three -match ODI series between the two teams, which will run from 8 to 14 October.
