Phil Salt played a stormy innings of 75 (37) runs, Sunil Narine scored 71 (32) runs and Venkatesh Iyer played a stormy inning of 39 (23) runs. Apart from him, Andre Russell and captain Shreyas Iyer also contributed 24 (12) and 28 (10) runs respectively.
Chasing the big target of 262 runs set by Kolkata, Punjab made a stormy start and the team added 93 runs in the powerplay itself. But after this, Jonny Bairstow and Shashank Singh gave their team a historic victory by hitting fours and sixes. Johnny scored an unbeaten 108* runs on 48 balls, while Shashank Singh also played an unbeaten inning of 68* runs on just 28 balls.
