Overview:

When Mithun Manhas attends or chairs a BCCI meeting, he will be eligible for a daily allowance.

Mithun Manhas, the former Delhi skipper, has officially taken over as president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following the Annual General Meeting at the board’s headquarters on Sunday. His appointment comes after Roger Binny stepped aside in August 2025.

With this move, Manhas becomes only the third ex-cricketer after Sourav Ganguly and Binny to occupy the board’s top post.

Unlike corporate roles, the presidency does not offer a structured salary. The position is honorary, meaning Manhas won’t receive a fixed monthly salary or yearly package. Instead, he will be entitled to daily allowances and perks designed to meet his official requirements.

Daily Allowance (Meetings)

When Mithun Manhas attends or chairs a BCCI meeting, he will be eligible for a daily allowance. For meetings held in India, the allowance is set at INR 40,000 per day. In the case of international meetings, he will receive USD 1,000 per day, which amounts to roughly INR 89,000, according to a report by The Economic Times.

Daily Allowance (Travel):

For official travel in India, Mithun Manhas will be entitled to a daily allowance of INR 30,000.

Travel and Accommodation

In addition to daily allowances, the BCCI president enjoys premium travel privileges—business class for domestic trips and either first class or business class for overseas travel. Accommodation is arranged in luxury hotel suites, ensuring comfort.

Mithun Manhas now carries the responsibility of proving himself in this prestigious position. To justify the trust shown in him, he will need to guide Indian cricket forward.
