Amita Sharma appointed chairperson of Indian women’s cricket team selection committee

Former Indian bowler Amita Sharma has been appointed as the chairperson of the women’s national selection committee during the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Sunday.

She succeeds Neetu David in the role.

Amita has represented India in 116 One-Day Internationals, picking up 87 wickets. She has also played five Tests and 41 T20Is in Indian colours, bagging five and 16 wickets respectively.

Additionally, former players Shyama Dey, Sulakshana Naik, Jaya Sharma and Sravanthi Naidu were also chosen to be part of the new the selection panel.
