Patiala House Court increased judicial custody of Gaganpreet Kaur in BMW case

New Delhi, 27 September (Read News). Delhi’s Patiala House Court has extended the judicial custody of Gaganpreet Kaur, accused in the BMW case in Dhaula Kuan area, for 14 days. Judicial Magistrate First Class Ankit Garg ordered to increase judicial custody.

The court is also going to pronounce the decision on the bail plea of ​​Gaganpreet Kaur today.

The court reserved the verdict on 25 September on the bail plea of ​​Gaganpreet Kaur. During the hearing of the bail plea, the court saw CCTV footage and other evidence. During the hearing, Gaganpreet Kaur’s lawyer Pradeep Rana said that the intention of the accused was not wrong. Gaganpreet Kaur called Venkateswara Hospital but no one picked up the phone. Gaganpreet Kaur also called PCR. Even the accused took the injured to Newlife Hospital and asked to make necessary arrangements for treatment. He said why the FIR was registered after 10 hours of the incident. Rana said that the accused is not asking for any anticipatory bail, he has been in custody for 10 days. There is no danger of his escape. He has also cooperated in the investigation. His mobile has also been confiscated by the police.

Opposing Gaganpreet’s bail plea, Delhi Police counsel Atul Srivastava said that the accused’s house was close to AIIMS Hospital NewLife. In the accident, there is a theory of golden hours and healing has to be given early. There is no mention of time in the documents made by the hospital. The phone made by the accused was not with the purpose of informing the police but with the intention of informing about the incident. The one who called the police from the hospital said that one patient has died while one is injured. Atul Srivastava said that the accused have been living in South Delhi for six years and they had complete information about the hospitals of the area. The objective of the accused was not to save the injured but to save himself from legal processes.

On September 14, a BMW accident took place near Dhaula Kuan Metro Station. 52 -year -old Navjot Singh, a senior officer of the finance ministry, died in the accident. Navjot Singh’s wife Sandeep Kaur was seriously injured in the accident.

Gaganpreet Kaur is accused that she was driving a car. Gaganpreet Kaur was arrested by Delhi Police on 15 September. The Delhi Police had filed an FIR against Gaganpreet Kaur, alleging culpable homicide, negligent driving and eradicating evidence.
