India could make up to three changes in their final Super 4 match against Sri Lanka on Friday. With India already through to the final and Sri Lanka eliminated, the match holds little significance, providing the Men in Blue with a chance to test fringe players while key members some much-needed rest ahead of Sunday’s summit clash.

Jasprit Bumrah, having missed one match in the Asia Cup, is expected to sit out this one as well, with the team management keen to manage his workload ahead of the final and the upcoming India-West Indies series next month. That could open the door for Arshdeep Singh, who became the first Indian to reach 100 T20I wickets in the previous encounter against Oman, to get another opportunity.

The squad is also expected to bench star spinner Kuldeep Yadav and bring in Harshit Rana as an extra pacer, keeping the left-arm wrist spinner fresh for the big match on Sunday. In addition, Tilak Varma’s replacement, Rinku Singh, may make his Asia Cup debut. This could also hand Sanju Samson the chance to bat at No.3.
