Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India’s emerging batting star, has continued to impress with his exceptional performances. He broke Unmukt Chand’s record during the second Youth ODI between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19. The 14-year-old is making a significant impact on his first tour of Australia, having scored his debut half-century on Australian soil.
In his knock of 70 runs off 68 balls, Suryavanshi showcased his aggressive batting, striking five fours and six sixes. His performance helped India A reach a total of 300 runs after being asked to bat first. He surpassed Unmukt Chand’s record of most sixes in Youth ODIs, completing 41 sixes, with Chand at 38.
Earlier in the series, Suryavanshi amassed 38 runs from 22 balls in the first ODI, which was key to India’s successful chase of a 226-run target in just 30.3 overs.
Suryavanshi has been in sensational form throughout the year, particularly during his tour of England, where he emerged as the highest run-scorer in the five-match series. He accumulated 355 runs across five innings, averaging 71.
Suryavanshi made a stunning debut in IPL 2025, hitting a six off his first ball and smashing a record-breaking century off just 35 balls, the fastest by an Indian in IPL history. He finished the season with 252 runs from seven innings, averaging 36 and posting a strike rate of 206.55.
