Strict monitoring in festivals: Regular patrolling and CCTV monitoring at sensitive sites

Varanasi, 23 September (Read News). Varanasi police administration is in alert mode in view of the festive season in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. For the purpose of maintaining the law and order situation in the district, Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal has instructed to compulsorily implement regular patrolling and CCTV monitoring in all sensitive areas of the city. Every week ‘Goodwork’ has been made mandatory in all police stations. The police stations were directed to do at least one remarkable work (goodwork) every week so that a positive image of the police could be created in the public. In the monthly crime review seminar held late evening, the Commissioner of Police, while giving special emphasis on women empowerment and security under Mission Shakti 5.0, said that the ‘zero tolerance’ policy against women crimes should be strictly adopted. He directed all the police stations to ensure strict and effective action against anti -social elements and pronounced in schools, colleges, markets, intersections and public places.

– Emphasis on publicity

The police commissioner directed that women helpline number and security information should be promoted through pamphlets on public places like Pooja Pandal, Hospital, Village, Ward, Park etc.-so that the common man can be made aware.

– Early disposal instructions of long cases

Instructions were given to conduct special campaigns to settle pending deliberations on priority basis. Timely and quality disposal of public affairs was also described as compulsory.

Vehicles without number plate, black film vehicles, three riding youths on two -wheelers, and other suspicious activities have been asked to be special vigilance. The Police Commissioner clarified that no criminal or lawful activity will be tolerated during festivals.

– Emphasis on improvement in traffic system

Instructions have been given to take action against encroachment to maintain smooth traffic system in the city. Also, it was asked to ensure the arrangement of erection of auto, ride vehicles and e-rickshaws at the designated places.

– Dialogue between police and public is necessary

Along with regular foot patrolling in sensitive areas, emphasis was also laid on establishing direct communication with the common man. Policemen were directed to adopt sensitive, gent and positive behavior with the public and behave harmoniously with every citizen who come to the police station. Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order and Headquarters) Shivhari Meena, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Rajesh Kumar Singh, all Deputy Commissioner of Police, Assistant Police Commissioner, Police Station Incharge and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
