Yashasvi Jaiswal recently spoke about his experience of playing alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Indian cricket team. Having made his Test debut for India in 2023, Jaiswal opened the batting with Rohit and built several valuable partnerships with Kohli.

In the 28 innings they batted together, Jaiswal and Rohit scored a total of 1269 runs. Reflecting on his time with Rohit, Jaiswal shared how the former India Test captain has been a guiding figure in his career, offering mental support and insights into improving his playing style.

“I truly enjoy spending time with Rohit bhai. He has taught me a great deal and supported my growth, both mentally and in all aspects. He’s genuinely an incredible person. Just being around him or having a conversation with him is a learning experience,” Jaiswal said.

Jaiswal opined on Virat Kohli’s humourous side. Kohli’s sharp observational skills allow him to crack witty jokes, which keep everyone entertained.

“Paaji is truly amazing, incredibly strong. I had the chance to bat with him several times, and he’s such a fun person to be around. When you spend time with him, you can’t help but laugh. If he’s talking about someone, he’ll give you every detail, and it’s just brilliant. He’s so sharp. If I tried to explain something in a funny way, it might not come out as funny, but when he does it, you’re guaranteed to laugh,” he added.

Jaiswal and Kohli formed strong partnerships in 10 innings, accumulating 361 runs. Jaiswal also had the privilege of being part of Rohit and Kohli’s final Test series before they announced their retirement from the format in May 2025.
