Almost 2 decades ago, when t20 cricket was not the grandest format of the game as it is now, there was a certain guy from India who showed the World The Potential of T20 CRICKET. He showed a glimpse of the future where every ball would get smashed beyond the boundary rope. It was 18 years ago on this day, September 19, 2007, When Yuvraj Singh Hit 6 Maxmums Off Stuart Broad’s over to score a half-textury in just 12 balls. This came in India’s match against England in the Inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa.

To this day, this remain the fastest 50 against a full-member nation in cricket history. In 2023, Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee Broke Yuvraj singh’s record of the fastest t20i 50 when he reacted his half-textury in just 9 balls. But he scored that 50 against Mongolia, a nation that isn’t a full-member cricketing nation. And Scoring Against Mongolia Comes Nowhere Near Destroying a Flintoff-LED England Side in an ICC T20 World Cup Game.

Today, the sport is more fast-paced than ever before, and yet in all this time, no one has been able to shadow Yuvraj Singh's destruction against any of the 12 Full-Member teams in Cricket. Let's take a look at 4 others who have come close to the record set by Yuvraj Singh in the last 18 years.

1. Jan Frylinck (13 balls vs. Zimbabwe, 2025): Talk about making an impact from the first ball! Namibia's Jan Frylinck stunned everyone against a full-member Zimbabwe side, blazing his way to a 13-ball half-century. His stunning display of power hitting meant that his 77 runs for the team resulted in a memorable win for Namibia.

2. Colin Munro (14 balls vs. Sri Lanka, 2016): On a mission to chase a meagre total of 143, Munro's 50 that came off 14 balls meant that the target was chased down by New Zealand with a full 10 overs to spare.

3. Quinton de Kock (15 balls vs. West Indies, 2023): When South Africa were put to chase a record-breaking 259 runs against the West Indies, Quinton de Kock stepped up with a 15-ball fifty, finishing on 100 off 44 deliveries. His explosive batting laid the foundation for the highest successful run chase in T20I cricket.

4. Shai Hope (16 balls vs. Bangladesh, 2018): Not someone well-known for his power game, Hope flipped the script against Bangladesh, scoring a fifty in 16 balls, eventually scoring 55 off 23 before being dismissed.
