Lucknow: The historic match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played on Friday, 26 April at Eden Garden, Kolkata. In this match, Punjab Kings (PBKS) made the biggest run chase in the history of T20 cricket against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In this match, the batsmen hit a lot of fours and sixes, while the bowlers could not do much. Seeing such condition of the bowlers, India's veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has made a request.

Seeing the plight of the bowlers in the match between Kolkata and Punjab in IPL 2024, Ashwin requested to save them. The veteran player wrote on his official X account, “Save the bowlers, someone please.” Let us tell you that this season till now has been in the name of batsmen because one record after another is being made. In such a situation, Ashwin has appealed to save the bowlers.
In this match played against KKR, it can be estimated that in this match the maximum number of sixes were hit in any single match in the history of IPL. Earlier this year, during the match played between Hyderabad and Mumbai, a total of 38 sixes were hit, but in this match that record was also broken. A total of 42 sixes were hit in this match between the two teams and this match was one to forget for the bowlers because even the legendary bowler like Kagiso Rabada was beaten badly.
In this match, opening batsman Jonny Bairstow played a century for Punjab. Facing 48 balls, he played an unbeaten inning of 108 runs with the help of 8 fours and 9 sixes. Apart from him, Shashank Singh also scored unbeaten 68 runs on 28 balls and during this he hit 2 fours and 8 sixes from his bat.
