Lucknow: Former Indian star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh believes that there is no point in selecting Dinesh Karthik in the Indian team for the ICC T-20 World Cup 2024. Yuvraj Singh, during his conversation with ICC, also expressed his reaction on the retirement of veteran batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

He said, “Dinesh Karthik is batting well at the moment. He was also selected in the team during the last T-20 World Cup but Karthik did not get many chances to play. If DK is not a part of your playing eleven, then there is no point in selecting him in the team. Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson are young players and are performing well. I would definitely like to see Dinesh but if he does not play then I would like some young player who can make a difference in the game.”

During this period, he has scored 2 half-centuries and his best score has been 83 runs. In such a situation, he is being considered a strong contender for the T20 World.

Talking about the retirement of Rohit and Virat, the former veteran player said, “As you grow older, people talk about your age and forget your form. Both of them have been great players of India and they are entitled to retire whenever they want.”
