Gariaband, 11 September (Read News). Security forces have achieved great success in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. Ten Naxalites were killed in the encounter in the forests of the district. These include a member of the Central Committee (CC) and the wanted Naxalite leader Manoj alias Modem Balakrishna.

According to sources, security forces were informed about the activities of Naxalites in the area. This was followed by an encounter during the search operation conducted, in which ten Naxalites were killed. Manoj aka Modem Balakrishna has been confirmed in the identification of the slain Naxalites, which had been a headache for police and security agencies for a long time.

A large quantity of weapons and Naxalite material have also been recovered from the scene. At present, search operation is going on in the area. This action is considered to be a major achievement of the security forces, because it has shocked the Naxalite organization.
