India’s record broken

India had the name of the biggest win with a margin of runs in ODIs. Team India defeated Sri Lanka by 317 runs in 2023. But, now England registered a big win of 342 runs and achieved this feat. However, despite this crushing defeat, South Africa won the series 2–1.

England’s explosive batting

England started to bat first after losing the toss. Opener Jamie Smith scored 62 runs from 48 balls and Ben Docket scored 31 off 33 balls. Subsequently, Joe Root and Jacob Bethel shared 182 runs for the third wicket to bring the team to a strong position. Root scored 100 runs from 96 balls and Bethel scored 110 runs from 82 balls.

In the final over, captain Jose Butler scored a stormy innings of 62 runs off 32 balls, while Will Jack added 19 runs off just 8 balls. England scored a huge score of 414 runs losing 5 wickets in the prescribed 50 overs.

African team lost badly

The South African team, chasing a target of 415 runs, stumbled from the beginning. In the very first over, Aidan Markram was out without opening an account. In the very next over, Vian Mulder also returned to the pavilion at zero. On seeing this, half the team was dismissed by the score of 18 runs. After all, the entire team collapsed for just 72 runs. This is his second lowest score in ODI history. For the team, Corbin Bosch scored the highest 20 runs from 32 balls.

English bowlers

For England, fast bowler Jofra Archer took 4 wickets while bowling brilliantly. Leg spinner Adil Rashid also took 3 wickets in his name.
