ENG vs SA 2nd ODI Playing 11: Harry Brook-led England will square off against Temba Bavuma-led South Africa in the 2nd ODI match on September 02 at Lord’s, London.
Proteas secured a 1-0 lead in the ODI series of the South Africa tour of England and will be aiming to secure the series by winning this game.
Meanwhile, England will be aiming to bounce back from the disappointing loss in the game.
England won the toss and opted to bowl firts. Speaking on the toss, Harry Brook said, “We are gonna have a bowl. There’ll be a bit in it at the start, hopefully we can the most of it.”
“Put that (loss) behind us, it’s a new day, we feel like the series starts today for us, go out there and do things that we always talk about. We always look to put pressure on their bowlers with the bat and then with the ball, work towards modes of dismissal,” added Brook.
“Saqib Mahmood comes in for Sonny Baker. He’s a very skilful bowler – Saqib – good to have him back. Nothing against Sonny, we feel that’s the right decision,” concluded Brook.
Meanwhile, Temba Bavuma said, “We would have looked to bowl considering the conditions. We got to do the job with the bat and assess the conditions quickly. Tony misses out.”
“Matthew Breetzke comes in. Mulder misses out due to illness and Senuran Muthusamy comes in for him. Today’s another important day for us to keep getting better as a team. We got to keep things simple,” added Bavuma.
“We always speak about getting here, see what’s happening with the conditions and adapting accordingly. Nothing really changes from there. They’ll probably come harder at us today. Whatever happens, we’ll look to put our best foot forward,” concluded Temba Bavuma.
