Bangladesh put on a strong all-round display as they beat the Netherlands by nine wickets in the second of the three-match T20I series at the Sylhet International Stadium on Monday.

After winning the first match by eight wickets, this win ensured Bangladesh's series win with one match still to go on September 3.
The hosts’ big win was set up by the bowlers, led by Nasum Ahmed, as the Netherlands were skittled out for just 103 in 17.3 overs.

Tanzid Hasan then hit a slowish fifty as Bangladesh needed 13.1 overs to reach the target.

Parvez Hossain and Tanzid set up the chase nicely with their 40-run opening partnership after a one-run first over. Parvez fell for 23 off 21 to Kyle Klein in the last over of the powerplay.

Tanzid and Liton Das then took all the time in their unbroken partnership of 64 runs from 46 balls to ensure Bangladesh reached 104 without any further hiccup.

Tanzid reached his fifty in 39 balls and remained unbeaten on 54 off 40 balls. Captain Liton was on the crease on a run-a-ball 18.

Earlier, the Netherlands lost early wickets after they were once again asked to bat first by the hosts.

Nasum struck twice in his first and third over of the innings when Max O’Dowd mistimed one to mid-on. In the very next ball, Teja Nidamanuru was caught at backwards point.

Vikramjit Singh and captain Scott Edwards tried to rebuild in their partnership of 23 runs, which was eventually the highest of the innings.

Pacer Taskin Ahmed ended that when Vikramjit was undone by a slower delivery after scoring 24 off 17. Mustafizur Rahman saw the back of Edwards to further damage the Dutch innings.

Three wickets in the space of seven deliveries put the Netherlands on the brink as they became 65-7 after 10.5 overs.

Noah Croes was run out by a brilliant direct hit from Saif Hassan, while Shariz Ahmed failed to manage a short ball off Tanzim. A brilliant length ball which shaped back in was too much for Sikander Zulfiqar to handle.

When Taskin dismissed Kyle Klein in the 14th over, the visitors were well on course to get all out under 100 runs.

But Aryan Dutt showed some fight in his innings of 30 off 24, the highest of the Netherlands innings, to go past the 100-run mark.

Mahedi Hasan bowled him to end the innings before Nasum had trapped Paul van Mekereen lbw.

Nasum took 3-21, while Taskin and Mustafiz took two wickets each. Tanzim and Mahedi both grabbed one wicket.
