Delhi: West Indies veteran all -rounder Kieron Pollard has created a new history in T20 cricket. He has become the second batsman in the world to complete 14,000 runs in this format. He achieved this achievement while playing against Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025.
The 16th match of CPL 2025 was played on 29 August between Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals at Taraob. Batting first after losing the toss, Barbados Royals scored 178 runs losing 6 wickets in the prescribed 20 overs. In response, the Trinbago Knight Riders, who came out to chase the target, won a brilliant game and won at the loss of three wickets in just 17.5 overs.
Colin Munro scored 67 runs on behalf of the team, while Nicholas Puran, who landed in the fourth order, scored an unbeaten 65 runs. Apart from this, Kieron Pollard, who came to bat at number five, added 19 not out. With this innings, he completed 14,000 runs in his T20 career.
Chris Gayle still has the record of scoring the most runs in T20 cricket. Gayle scored 14,562 runs in 455 innings of 463 matches played between 2005 and 2022 at an average of 36.22.
After Gayle, now Pollard has become the second player to reach this figure. Since 2006, Pollard has played 712 T20 matches. In this, he has scored 14,000 runs in 633 innings. During this time, 1 century and 64 half -centuries have been scored from his bat.
